How would you act?

Recently, there were some conservatives angry that Chip and Johanna Gains got their photo taken with Brittney Griner. Most folks disparaged Chip and Johanna for doing this. Others called Brittney names. One called her a “diviant.” Here is how I responded to a guy named Joe.

“No, Joe,”I said,  “she’s a sinner in need of God’s grace. It always helps me to think of people like her as my wayward daughter or my rebellious son. I would tell her, “Kid, I don’t agree with anything you’re doing, but such was the case for everyone before Jesus got a hold of them. I hope and pray you will repent and come to Jesus.” I believe God made it possible for believers to love and be kind to people without agreeing with their identity, unpatriotic pathologies, and perverted ideologies. I don’t know what’s going on in her heart, how God may be working. And I certainly do not know why Chip and Johanna wanted a photo with her. I suppose they’re just following that “love thy neighbor” thing. What influence could they have on her if they spit on her or called her a “deviant” to her face? Remember, Brittney doesn’t claim to be Christian. What else can we expect from her? Do you think if she watched Fox News for a month, she would change? What ten conservative books, if she read them, would change her? What if she hung out with Trump, Mike Huckabee, and Thomas Soul three times a week. Would that change her? It couldn’t hurt, but sadly, I think not! God works from the inside out. If she’s going to change, it will begin with God. It always does.

I’m not on your case. Believe me! These are just words from an old man who thought about all these things “before” I posted my comment. Love Jesus, Vote Trump!”

My response satisfied some, but there were still the haters. Conservatives haters. I report this because the movement I’m  against is not a movement against  individuals,  but rather ideologies. Britney Griner paid a pretty hefty price for her stupidity. God judges/disciplines us in his own way. Christians know this:  “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12.  It should rarely be about individuals.  Brittney, although outspoken, is not a “power” like CNN. Like individuals at the CIA spreading misinformation. Or like the Democrat party and some lawmakers and judges promoting and signing laws and makinging judgments  to encourage abortion, disgusting gay pride festivals, trangenderism, and other fruits of unrighteousness.

Judging the Gaines’, Chip, and Johanna, for getting a photo with Brittney, is just foolishness and a means to  sell their names for profit. I’ve gotten my photo taken with celebrities and friends who believe differently that I do,  it doesn’t mean I agree with their personal habits or world view.

Let’s try praying for both The Gaines AND Britney Griner. And save our angst for the devil and his minions.
